We create courses and programs for life-long learning with careers at our core. Our courses range from exploring general interests to up-skilling for career advancement and reskilling for career changes. We complete all background activities required to set up our products for students to purchase and experience several delivery options.CDARI is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Mass Timber Construction to co-develop two new courses for Continuing Education. 1) Course Name: CNST 034: Sustainable Mass Timber Construction2) Course Name: CNST 035: Virtual Mass Timber Design & ConstructionAnticipated start date: January 2024End Date: April 15 2024Total Development: 75 hours The SME will be required to work virtually with a Product Strategist, Instructional Design Team and other Subject Matter Experts to create and review this curriculum. The Role:SME Deliverables required for this project: Create Course Outline, Course Schedule, Content, Assessments, Activities, PowerPoints, Course Organizer, ResourcesEnsure course materials promote learning and helps to measure and evaluate student’s ability to achieve important, real-world competencies (knowledge, skills, performance tasks, behaviors)Ensure the course is learner centered and engagingEnsure material is current, relevant, and delivers quality learning experienceContent to align with industry standards, requirements and best practicesDefine accurate, clear, specific, relevant learning outcomes for the courseEnsure competencies and learning outcomes are aligned with course content Update other pertinent information, including required learning materials, software, technology, assessments, modulesQualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management is preferred. An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.Knowledge in Mass Timber SustainabilityKnowledge in Mass Timber Design2 to 3 year’s knowledge and experience with Construction Management and Mass Timber Products and ConstructionFirst-hand knowledge of what employers and industry seek or need in terms of course competencies (knowledge, skills, performance tasks, behaviors)Relevant field experience within the last six (6) monthsKnowledge of current industry standards and best practicesPrevious experience developing curriculum (preferred) Have strong attention to detail in written communication Maintain reliability and accountability to timelines and project milestones Maintain attentiveness to the deliverables of the engagement and respond to communication in a timely mannerAbility to organize and present written informationFluent in English reading and vocabularyPositive & respectful attitudeExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsTeam player – easy to collaborate and work with2 years of experience in training or teaching is an asset, preferably in Construction ManagementExperience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)Experience with videoconferencing technology (MS Teams, WebX, Skype or Zoom)Desired Experience in:BIM (or equivalent) in all stages of Mass Timber Design and ConstructionDesigning and detailing Mass Timber StructuresThe process of installing Mass Timber StructuresBiophilic DesignSeismic DesignDesigning Floors (vibration & sound transmission)Previous teaching experience is considered an assetPrevious experience developing or revising coursesExperience with a Learning Management System (Brightspace or Moodle is an asset)Job location: RemoteJob classification: Adjunct# of positions: 1Posting closing date: Open until suitable candidate is foundPosition end date: August 31, 2024About SAIT SAIT is a global leader in applied education.
