Your opportunity:
Working under the supervision of the Registrar & Director, Student Services, the Student Services Officer will act as a first point of contact for students and assist them in navigating the full suite of student services functions. This includes scheduling appointments for prospective
students, applicants, and current students to address their needs. The successful incumbent will also provide administrative and event support to the Office of the Registrar & Student Services.
This role is not currently eligible for a hybrid work arrangement, pursuant to University policies and guidelines, including but not limited to the University of Toronto’s Alternative Work Arrangements Guideline .
Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
- Providing detailed information on processes, policies, and procedures
- Scheduling appointments for prospective students, applicants, and current students to address individual needs
- Disseminating program materials to prospective students and applicants
- Troubleshooting and resolving routine issues
- Applying established file retention standards in data administration activities
- Collecting and passing on information
- Handling fees and/or fines on a regular basis
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience in student services including providing frontline service
- Experience advising on policies and procedures, preferably within a post-secondary environment
- Experience with student information systems is required
- Ability to manage conflicting demands, prioritize, and work under pressure
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to exercise good judgement, tact and discretion
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a diverse student population
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

USW Pay Band 09 -- $65,407 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $83,646. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
