Job Title: Special Project Assistant (Aerial Photo Collection)

 

Reports to: Head, Liaison Services

 

Hour of work: 10 hours

 

Hourly Rate: $15.85

 

Classification: AMUSE A 

 

Duration: May – August 31, 2024

 

Job Summary:

 

The Special Projects Assistant will help create an inventory of the McGill Library’s aerial photo collection as part of a broader provincial initiative among Quebec university libraries. Duties will include carefully entering specific details (metadata) about each photograph into an excel spreadsheet, ensuring the photographs are in proper order, labelling and re-boxing photos as needed, and uploading the inventory files to the central project repository. 

 

Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:

 

·       Attention to detail and good organizational skills 

·       Able to work independently 

·       Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel 

 

Knowledge of French is an asset but not required. McGill University is an English-language university where day-to-day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level # (3) on a scale of 0-4 Other languages an asset.
