The Social Media and Communications Manager will maintain the Youth Wellness Lab’s vision and voice across all social media platforms and participate in knowledge dissemination.
About the Youth Wellness Lab
The Youth Wellness Lab (YWL) is a research collaborative that brings together academic researchers, community-based partners, and youth members with a shared goal of improving services and outcomes across multiple intersecting domains by, with, and for youth. Located within the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto, the YWL aspires to create knowledge that speaks to the intersectional identities of young people ages 29 and younger and engages youth as authentic partners and leaders in designing, developing, and translating research that impacts service delivery to improve youth outcomes. YWL’s mission is to create a safe space for sustainable empowerment and expression through research and collaborative conversations for youth, by youth. By providing opportunities to engage in dialogue, we focus on issues that youth experience and uplift ideas about their wellness.
Responsibilities may include:
- Maintaining YWL vision and voice across social channels
- Coordinating social media campaigns across multiple channels, including but not limited to: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, YouTube
- Collaborating with YWL team to generate content
- Attending monthly meetings with the team
- Curating YWL content and creative materials
- Maintaining editorial calendar
- Cultivating partnerships based with social media platforms that align with YWL mission and vision statements
- Developing, designing and coordinating communications materials, as needed
- Collaborating with partners on public-facing events and materials, drafting social media promotional content and supporting with event coordination, as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Solid understanding of and comfort using various social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube)
- Genuine passion for social media and content creation
- Able to work independently and within a team
- Strong editing, communication, and organization skills
- Experience using Canva highly preferred
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at University of Toronto
- Available for 10hours per week
