Course Description: 

Increasingly, the marketplace has come to reward, and government regulators have come to demand a sophisticated managerial approach to the ethical problems that arise in business. Topics include ethical issues in international business, finance, accounting, advertising, intellectual property, environmental policy, product and worker safety, new technologies, affirmative action, and whistle-blowing.

Qualifications:

Experience as a private sector manager or management consultant or in teaching ethics, strategic management, or related topics in a post-secondary context. Demonstrated excellence in teaching or presenting and mastery of the subject area.

(In addition to the minimum): a graduate degree in law, management, public policy, public administration, philosophy, or political science.

Duties:

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration, and marking of assignments, tests, and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours, and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, supervision of T.A. assigned to course.

Estimated TA Support (Hours):

Approximately 50 minutes per student enrolled over 30

Y and S Terms - Saturday, August 10, 2024 to Saturday, August 24, 2024

Note: All positions involve the completion of all course grading. You must be available throughout the exam period as exams are scheduled centrally and individual preferences for exam times/dates cannot always be accommodated.

Salary for a half-course (0.50 FCEs) inclusive of vacation pay: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,457.89. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term rate of pay will be $9,930.79. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $10,121.76.  Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,326.61. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,362.76. Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,570.01.
