Job Description
The Library & Archives invites applications from candidates for a full-time Academic Librarian position at the
rank of Librarian I or II beginning on May 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The successful candidate will be the liaison librarian for Biology, Chemistry, and Nutrition & Dietetics, and will also
be the Electronic Resources coordinator for the library. As faculty members, librarians at Acadia are expected to
pursue their own scholarly research and to participate in service activities that benefit the University, the profession,
and the broader academic community.
Academic Qualifications:
• Master’s Degree in Library Science or its equivalent from a school accredited by the American Library

PROVOST & VICE-PRESIDENT, ACAD
Association (or equivalent accrediting body acceptable to the University)
Required Qualifications:
• demonstrated ability to take initiative, set own priorities, and work independently
• demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• strong service orientation with a commitment to working with faculty and students
Desired Qualifications:
• academic qualifications and/or professional work experience in Biology, Chemistry, Nutrition or related
disciplines
• experience managing electronic resources
