Research Assistant 2

Supervisor: Niladri Basu, PhD

Department of Natural Resource Sciences

Macdonald Campus; McGill University


Position Summary:
Maintains primary cell cultures, and performs independent toxicological studies on these cultures against chemicals and environmental samples;

Prepares libraries for sequencing using the ultraplex method;

Analyzes resulting data using bioinformatic methods to yield transcriptomic points of departures;

Writes up findings as a report.
Qualifications:

MSc in biological sciences with proven independent experience working with cell cultures, in vitro toxicological testing and experimental design, mRNA sequencing using traditional RNAseq and UPX, bioinformatic analysis focused on transcriptomic point of departures.

McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing.
