Working for the Department/Faculty

The mission of the Department of Medical Microbiology & Immunology is to provide an enriched environment for research, education and training in the field of infection and immunity that links molecular mechanisms to disease, treatment and prevention.

Position

We seek a postdoctoral fellow with expertise in adaptive immunology interested in investigating the links between T cell and myeloid polarization, viral and autoimmune inflammation using mouse models.

Another PDF position is available to study the underlying mechanisms linking immune dysregulation and cardiac and skeletal muscle wasting during cancer and chemotherapy. We apply cutting-edge tools, such as multi-dimension flow cytometry, RNA-seq, and metabolic profiling to study the pathogenesis in cancer mouse models.

Research responsibilities will include assistance with:

  • experimental design, experimentation, compilation of data and analysis;
  • the writing of research protocols and manuscripts;
  • the identification of funding opportunities and writing of funding applications;
  • mentoring of graduate students;
  • other research related activities.

We are looking for highly-motivated candidates with a strong research record (publications or presentations) with a doctoral degree within 1 year and a PhD in Immunology or with Metabolomics expertise

Applicants with expertise in cellular immunology, mouse models, flow cytometry, and bioinformatic analysis of transcriptomics and metabolomics are encouraged to apply.
