Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 6002 Sec 51, “Critical Clinical Practice and Intervention in Social Work”. The course will be offered in the Fall Term, from September-December 2024. For a full course description, please refer to the Dalhousie Academic Calendar. Note: this course is part of the MSW program.
The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. Distance courses are taught using an online learning management system (LMS) known as Brightspace. Distance courses require on-line availability for consultation with students. In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: Extensive experience in a variety of approaches to clinical social work practice, from a critical perspective, and with a particular focus on the experiences and needs of diverse communities. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience, preferably with on-line teaching.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
