Job Summary & Key Responsibilities | Students will gain insight into individuals’ experiences of mental health problems, mental disorders/psychiatric illnesses, and addictions. Multiple perspectives, including biological, nursing, sociological, philosophical and political, will guide the analysis. Treatment modalities will be critiqued. The association between nurses’ relational practices and individuals’ quests for life fulfillment will be examined. This is a 3-credit hour course held online asynchronously. The appointment runs from September 1 – December 31, 2024, and the successful candidate reports directly to the Associate Director, UG Studies Academic. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Development of teaching and learning activities related to course-specific topic • Teach course content • Assessment and evaluation of student learning • Use of Brightspace for course delivery • Responding to student queries about coursework • Attending initial instruction with Instructional Learning Online services re: Brightspace • Participation in course discussions within the program • Develop and administer examinations • Submission of grades • Follow up with students as necessary |
Qualifications/Requirements of Position | Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Nursing, or related field, with a strong background in Mental Health Nursing. Prior teaching experience an asset. PhD preferred. |
Salary Range/Pay Rate | As per CUPE Collective Agreement |
