Job Summary & Key Responsibilities | POSITION: Laboratory Demonstrator/Instructor [Multiple Positions Available] WORK ASSIGNMENT: PHYT 6107 Neurological Physiotherapy Practice [Fall term, September 3 –December 20, inclusive of Exam Period. Labs occur weekly, on Tuesdays and Friday mornings between 8:30am – 12:30pm.] DESCRIPTION OF WORK: : The laboratory demonstrator will assist the course faculty by teaching physical assessment, documentation, and/or practical treatment skills and techniques in the laboratory component of this course for Year 2 MScPT students. The laboratory demonstrator will also be asked to act as an examiner for mid-term and final (Dec. 9th) practical exams and to evaluate the students’ performance throughout the course. Preparation in advance for each lab and to be knowledgeable about the content, will be required. The laboratory demonstrator will contribute to preparation and evaluation of interprofessional health education assignments (Nov. 7th & 21st). Some additional hours may be required for limited meeting time with the course faculty. Lab demonstrators will promote a professional environment for safe and effective student learning. The lab demonstrator may be required to assist in conflict-resolution in the event that interpersonal conflict is interfering with student(s) meeting the lab objectives. |
Qualifications/Requirements of Position | Candidates must be licensed Physiotherapists. Experience in neurotherapeutics is required. Candidates should be available for both the Tuesday and Friday labs each week |
Salary Range/Pay Rate | In accordance with CUPE agreement |
