Job Summary & Key Responsibilities
To teach CRWR 2002.03 (01), Introduction to Creative Writing in the fall term 2024 (Sept-Dec 2024). This course is scheduled for W/F 16:00-17:30. This is a large class that explores the techniques and practices of various literary genres including poetry, fiction, narrative non-fiction, playwriting, and writing for children. CRWR 2002 is a core course for students planning on completing a combined major or honours program in creative writing. The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the class, including the evaluation of student work. The part-time academic should also be available for two hours per week for consultation with students. The part-time academic reports to the Chair of the Department.
Qualifications/Requirements of Position
Applicants should hold an MA or MFA in Creative Writing or another relevant field with at least one recently published book. Demonstrated expertise in current pedagogical methods of teaching at the post-secondary level is required for this position. Service as a university writer-in-residence may count toward teaching experience.
Salary Range/Pay Rate Per CUPE Collective Agreement
