The UHN Library and Information Services support the information needs of UHN’s clinicians, researchers, support staff and learners. Our strategic priorities include enabling innovation and learning through expert information leadership, and promoting and enabling access to the best evidence for decision-making.

As a key member of the library team, the Library and Archives Technician will be the lead for all cataloguing duties, and play a key role in maintaining and coordinating library collections, circulation, physical spaces, and policies and procedures across our UHN hospital campuses. They will support our corporate archivist in the management of UHN’s corporate archives. They will also perform a wide variety of other duties as part of a cross functional team of information professionals.

Duties:
– Performs cataloguing responsibilities (including original and copy cataloguing, checking for errors and inconsistencies in catalogue data, inputting catalogue data in ILS).
– Participates in all aspects of book and ebook acquisition process.
– Provides reference assistance services to members of TeamUHN in person, virtually and by phone.
– Performs circulation activities, including managing client registration and accounts.
– Performs collection maintenance duties.
– Support corporate archivist in applying standards and policies for storage of archival materials, and by assisting and supervising archives researchers.
– Provides backup support to document delivery and inter-library loan specialist.
– Participates in other library and archives special projects.
