Your opportunity:

The Laboratory Technician – Mining and Geomechanics Laboratory will serve as the primary contact for expertise in related research fields, ensuring effective collaboration with staff in the Transparent Lab, including those working with various polyaxial testing systems, instrumentations, and the Geomechanics group. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities aimed at maintaining seamless operation, ongoing maintenance, and continuous enhancement of lab equipment, electronics, and software. Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the technician will be tasked with maintaining, modifying, and upgrading laboratory equipment. Additionally, the role involves organizing scheduled maintenance, designing and 3D printing prototypes and custom parts, and supporting work with x-ray CT scanners. The technician will also apply relevant analytical techniques as needed for evolving research projects, manage data collection, manipulation, and tabulation, and develop software in Python and C++ to integrate mechanical testing equipment with bespoke data acquisition systems.
