Are you passionate about molecular biology and skilled in cutting-edge techniques like microinjection, Stem cell technology, and gene modification? We are seeking a talented Molecular Biologist/Cell Culture Technician to join our team and contribute to groundbreaking research.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform microinjection of DNA vectors and drugs into various organoids to study gene function and developmental processes.
  • Generate, Maintain and culture human IPSC, differentiate IPSC into cortical, Doparminergic NPC, neurons and ensuring optimal growth conditions and experimental consistency.
  • Conduct molecular biology techniques such as RNA extraction and purification, RT-PCR, Northern blotting, DNA extraction, purification, PCR, and DNA molecule cloning.
  • Execute protein extraction techniques, western blotting, and other protein analysis methods to study protein expression, function, and interactions.
  • Collaborate with research teams to design experiments, troubleshoot technical issues, and analyze experimental results.
  • Maintain accurate records of experiments, protocols, and results in accordance with laboratory standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Contribute to the development and optimization of new techniques and protocols to enhance research capabilities and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with microinjection techniques in model organisms such as Drosophila and Xenopus.
  • Proficiency in cell culture techniques, including experience with HEK cells and primary cell cultures.

Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #4 (qualifier) on a scale of 0-4.
