Position Summary:
The Head Coach - Badminton will be responsible to develop and integrate the skills of the student athletes that are in line with the values, standards, goals and excellence of the McGill Varsity Badminton program. Administrative tasks regarding eligibility, recruitment, scholarship requirements, and performance logs are also an integral part of this position. 
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess and help players on their athletic performance and skills,

  • Schedule practices and drills to prepare them to perform well in every match.

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of the Badminton program including competitions, practices, compliance, budgets, academics, student conduct and development.

  • Scouting/ recruiting for potential team members.

  • Supervise assistant coaches, oversee scheduling, approve payroll, conduct performance evaluations.

  • Act as a mentor and guide by supervising athletes during practices and directing them in matches. This involves one-on-one instructions and encouragement to keep the players motivated.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

English and French. Demonstrated communication skills and ability to interact with all facets of an individual. NCCP Level II or Equivalent. Prior coaching experience at an elite/competitive level. Successful background check required.

Bachelor's Degree 3 Years Related Experience /


Annual Salary:


(MPEX Grade 05) $69,430.00 - $86,790.00 - $104,150.00
