Hiring Unit:
Facilities Management and Ancillary Services - Building Operations
Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Building Operations Supervisor, the incumbent performs

related duties for buildings within their sector of the downtown McGill campus.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Installs, repairs, replaces, modifies, inspects and maintains energy components and control systems.


Qualifications:

CEGEP Diploma in Instruments and Controls or an equivalent field. Basic knowledge of microprocessors and electronics, pneumatics and digital controls, electricity, computer and software. Experience in the following equipment: Johnson control, Honeywell, Delta, Siemens, Digital Control Sequencers, SCU, MBC, Regulvar and Preston Phipps. Knowledge in IT, BAS networks, HVAC networks, and coding systems would be considered an asset. Knowledge of control components and troubleshooting would be considered an asset. English and French, spoken and written.

  • Hours of Work: 38.75 hrs/week, day shift from 7:30 am to 3:45 pm; the incumbent will be required to be on 24/7 call-in for one week out of every 4 weeks.

Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 2 on a scale of 0-4.
