The Diagnostic Imaging Programs within the School of Health & Life Sciences requires a full-time (1.0) Educational Laboratory Technologist II to coordinate and maintain the Diagnostic Imaging labs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, set up labs in co-operation with instructors to provide optimal and effective learning.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and inspection of Diagnostic Imaging equipment in order to prevent lost instruction time, arranging for service calls and preventative maintenance with service providers.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and service calls.
  • Maintain and update list of all equipment, phantoms, simulators and accessory equipment.
  • Order lab supplies as needed.
  • Assist with simulation coordination.
  • Assist with preparing lab manuals.
  • Provide a clean, safe work environment for students and staff in the laboratories.
  • Assist with the PACS server.
  • May assist with the organization and schedule for scanning models and monitors for labs.
  • Liaise with other programs for lab use.
  • Liaise with School of Health and Life Sciences Bio-med technology team.
  • Participate in the SHS OH&S committee.
  • All other duties as required.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Troubleshooting various diagnostic imagining equipment.
  • Computer literacy, including extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required.

 

Qualifications:

  • Completion of grade twelve.
  • Diploma in field related to the position assignments. For example, Medical Radiologic Technology or Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technology.
  • Active registration is required with either the ACMDTT or the ACCLXT.
  • Experience working in a clinical, laboratory, or healthcare care simulated environment is an asset.
  • Equivalencies may be considered.

 

Remuneration: $51,138.62 - $69,092.14 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Classification – Education Laboratory Technologist II).                           

This position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE) Collective Agreement.
