TENURE-TRACK POSITION IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY
The University of New Brunswick (UNB), Department of Psychology, Fredericton invites applications for atenure-track position at the rank of Instructor/Director of the Psychological Wellness Centre (PWC) effective July 1, 2017. The PWC is the department’s in-house training clinic providing practicum opportunities in assessment and therapy for our clinical students and offering low-cost services to UNB students and the wider Fredericton community.
The ideal candidate will have generalist clinical training and interests and be able to work with clients and supervise trainees in both child and adult assessment (psychoeducational and mental health) and therapy. Applicants may also have other clinical interests relevant to the provision of community mental health services. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is excited about teaching and training the next generation of clinical psychologists and has the vision to lead a community-focused training clinic.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in Clinical Psychology, be eligible for doctoral level registration with the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick, and show evidence of effectiveness in evidence based clinical training/teaching, clinical supervision, and applied clinical research. The Director of the PWC will be an integral member of the Department of Psychology, which has a vibrant CPA accredited MA/PhD program in Clinical Psychology. The Director will have classroom teaching duties related to our Clinical Psychology Program and will be instrumental in the clinical supervision of trainees completing practicum placements at the PWC. The Director will also oversee the administrative management of the PWC including planning for long-term sustainability and growth. The successful candidate will be committed to the scientist-practitioner model and will be able to forge productive partnerships with other areas of professional practice on campus and in the community.
The Department of Psychology in Fredericton has BA and BSc majors and honours programs as well as MA/PhD programs in Clinical Psychology (CPA accredited) and Experimental Psychology.
