Competition #: #16-21 Closing Date: Review of applicants will begin April 2017 and continue until the position is filled.
DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINEERING
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of New Brunswick invite applications for the position of Instructor. Applicants for this position should have demonstrated teaching abilities and relevant practical experience in Electrical Engineering. The successful applicant will bring to UNB a strong commitment to teaching excellence in a number of key core undergraduate courses, including electricity and magnetism, circuits, electronics, and machines offered by our Electrical Engineering program. Demonstrated experience in software engineering concepts will give additional merit to an application as a complement to the department’s joint SWE program.
Applicants should possess both undergraduate and graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering (or a strongly related discipline), with a Ph.D. being considered an asset. Registration as a Professional Engineer in New Brunswick (or eligibility to acquire registration) is an essential requirement. The department wishes to hire an instructor with a broad background in Electrical Engineering to maximize teaching synergies and it is also expected they will contribute significantly to departmental service responsibilities.
The University of New Brunswick is one of the oldest public universities in Canada and is one of Canada’s leading research and teaching institutions. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is the second oldest Engineering department at UNB and has a long tradition of excellence in teaching with a strong collaborative culture. Review of applicants will begin April 2017 and continue until the position is filled, subject to final budgetary approval. The anticipated start date for the position is July 1, 2017. Candidates should send a curriculum vitae and a statement outlining their teaching philosophy and past teaching experience, and arrange for letters from three referees to be sent to:
