NAIT Financial Services supports NAIT by providing efficient and effective financial operations, outstanding reporting to stakeholders, trusted business partnership to various departments, and expert financial advice and leadership.

This position requires a unique blend of expertise in financial analysis and business process improvement. The Business Analyst will play a crucial role in analyzing financial processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and supporting cross-functional projects to drive efficiency and effectiveness within the Financial Services department and across the organization. This position will collaborate closely with a wide and diverse group of stakeholders, including managers, department heads, and senior leadership. The primary focus will be on analyzing financial processes and identifying areas for optimization. Additionally, the position will coordinate projects related to financial systems and process improvement, ensuring successful completion within established timelines and budget constraints.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Systems Support: Assist in overseeing the management and optimization of financial systems, including enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and reporting platforms. Contribute to ensuring data integrity, troubleshooting system issues, and collaborating with IT teams for system enhancements and upgrades. Provide support for end-user requests, queries, and reporting issues within the Finance ERP.
  • Process Improvement: Evaluate existing financial processes, systems, and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement. Collaborate with the senior business analyst to propose and implement solutions aimed at enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and compliance. Participate in streamlining financial procedures, controls, and reporting mechanisms to optimize operational effectiveness.
  • Project Support: Assist in supporting cross-functional projects focused on improving financial processes, systems, and reporting. Work closely with the senior business analyst to develop project plans, set milestones, and contribute to resource management for successful project delivery. Monitor project progress, assist in identifying risks, and contribute to the implementation of mitigation strategies. Support the communication of project updates and outcomes to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with finance managers, department heads, and other stakeholders to understand their requirements, priorities, and challenges. Establish and maintain working relationships, acting as a reliable support resource. Provide assistance based on financial analysis and industry best practices under the guidance of the senior business analyst.
  • Compliance and Risk Assistance: Contribute to monitoring financial processes and activities to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, policies, and procedures. Assist in identifying and mitigating financial risks, actively addressing potential issues and supporting the implementation of controls. Contribute to monitoring roles and security of users and their interaction with the Finance system.

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Solid understanding of business process reengineering, workflow analysis, and change management principles.
  • An understanding of PeopleSoft FSCM and its architecture, along with the ability to build custom queries within the system.
  • Fluency with various Microsoft Office 365 applications (such as Word, Excel, etc.), including some experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, etc.).
  • Foundational knowledge of accounting and internal controls, with an understanding of enterprise and technical systems.
  • Ability to identify and creatively solve problems within existing constraints and systems.
  • Team player, with the ability to work with a diverse group of users. Ability to foster collaboration, build consensus, and manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience required.

 

Remuneration: $66,076.66 - $87,543.30 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
