Position Summary:

- Must be available full time (live on site) for June 10- June 21, 2024

- Assists the professors with the field- and lab work, computer analysis, and helps guide the students and student projects in the field and evaluates student participation.

- Purchase, gather and transport course equipment to and from Mont St. Hilaire in the days before and after the field course

- Assists with logistical requirements of the course, e.g. equipment and grocery purchases during the course

- Assists with permitting requirements for the course (e.g. compiling animal numbers)

- Assists with student needs during the course

- Be available to provide help with the student data analysis and write-up in the weeks following the course.

- NOTE: duties may change depending on arrangements regarding the pandemic. The course may also be cancelled.
Qualifications:

Preference will be given to Ph.D. candidates in Ecology, Evolution, Behaviour or Conservation with significant experience in fieldwork and the design of field experiments.  Well-qualified MSc students will be considered, especially those with experience at the Gault Nature Reserve and/or knowledge of the local flora and fauna.  Preference also given to graduates who have TA’ed BIOL 331 previously.

- Substantial experience in statistical analysis is required and command of R essential.

- Must have good organization and communication skills.

- There are normally both aquatic and terrestrial modules, so we favor candidates with broad training and field experience. Please specify relevant training and field experience on the application, and feel free to append a CV.

- Must have completed WHMIS training within the past 3 years
