Position Description
The McGill University Department of Medicine invites applications for a full-time position as a member of the Contract Academic Staff as a Clinician-Investigator at the rank of Assistant Professor (Clinical). This is a Contract Academic Staff position and does not confer eligibility for tenure.

The Division of Clinical Immunology and Allergy is one of the most research intensive Divisions in the Department of Medicine, offering services at the McGill network of hospitals and has an illustrious history of innovation and excellence in teaching, research, and clinical care.
Job Duties

As a Clinician-Investigator, you will focus on directing a research program of sufficient calibre to publish in peer-reviewed journals and obtain funding from peer-reviewed agencies. The candidate interested in a Clinician-Investigator position will be expected to devote between 25-50% of their time to research.
The successful candidate will focus on scholarly activities in the area of genetic susceptibility in atopic disease, as well as inborn errors of immunity in adults.
Clinical duties include weekly allergy/immune deficiency clinics at both the Montreal General Hospital (MGH) and the Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) and supervision of drug and food challenges and therapeutic infusions of immunoglobulins.
The incumbent will also be expected to be actively involved in all aspects of McGill’s academic mission (i.e., research, teaching, supervision of students and residents and involvement in academic and administrative committees).

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Candidates must:
Hold an MD degree and must have completed specialty training in Allergy and Clinical Immunology;
Be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent) and be eligible for licensure in Quebec;
Hold certification by the Collège des médecins du Québec;
Have at least one additional year of clinical and/or research training and/or advanced methods training is required in the area of quality improvement/patient safety and/or advanced methods.
Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families and health care professionals.
