The successful candidate will have an academic position description of Clinician Teacher, Clinician Investigator, Clinician Educator, Clinician Administrator, or Clinician in Quality and Improvement, and must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at the University of Toronto. The anticipated start date is July 1st, 2024, or a mutually agreeable date.

Sinai Health and Women’s College Hospitals constitute a unified department within Obstetrics and Gynaecology, holding esteemed positions as leaders in Women’s and Infants' Health at both regional and national levels. Mount Sinai Hospital, a fully affiliated teaching hospital with the University of Toronto, is associated with the Lunenfeld-Tanenbaum Research Institute, a globally recognized institution where research in Women’s and Infants’ health is a prominent focus. The Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology currently comprises six surgeons who specialize in complex benign gynecology and surgery. They serve as a tertiary referral service for women dealing with various conditions, including advanced endometriosis, chronic abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, pelvic masses, reproductive surgery, and Müllerian anomalies. The team maintains robust collaborations with Medical Imaging, Surgery, and Urology.

The Division is seeking an individual with clinical expertise and skills in the following areas:

1. High-quality medical and surgical management of individuals with complex pelvic disorders such as advanced forms of endometriosis, providing leading-edge diagnostic tools and therapies. Clinical responsibilities will extend to both Mount Sinai Hospital and Women’s College Hospital.
2. Participation in a rotational gynecology-only call coverage system, encompassing day, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. The candidate will not be participating in obstetrical care or call.

3. Contribution to scholarly work within the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynaecology based on clinical and/or research interests. This may include knowledge translation, patient education, digital platforms, retrospective and/or prospective cohort studies, as well as education and simulation.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the training of fellows specializing in Advanced Pelvic Surgery and will actively contribute to the two-year surgical fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery, accredited through the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL). Additionally, enthusiastic participation in all levels of our teaching and education mandate is expected, including the teaching of medical students, residents, as well as fellows. Evidence of excellence in teaching is required.

The successful candidate must hold and MD degree, must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynaecology by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), or have comparable qualifications, and must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO). Additionally, they must have completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery or an equivalent surgical fellowship.

The position will be placed in the Hospital Department Practice Plan with a minimum gross annual compensation of $250,000.00 CAD (estimated based on fee-for-service billings), commensurate with academic rank, qualifications, and experience. Applications will be accepted until March 30th, 2024, or until the position is filled.
