The Opportunity
SAIT is looking for individuals who are interested in future Administrative Assistant opportunities. These opportunities are short-term casual hourly roles where the hours per week may vary based on requirements and availability. 
The listed duties are an outline of the work that may be required as an Administrative Assistant, but will change depending on the immediate needs. Work is expected to be on-site, however some scenarios may allow for hybrid work.

The Role
    • Responsibilities may include:
    • Act as a first point of contact to a high volume of email, phone and in-person inquiries to ensure questions are answered in a timely and accurate manner, triaging requests to the appropriate individual when necessary
    • Assist in arranging meetings, booking and setting up rooms, arrange any support documents, and taking meeting minutes as needed
    • Provide administrative support directly to the School or Department’s leadership such as calendar management
    • Preparing and routing correspondence; documents, reports and templates using MS Office Suite
    • Researching SAIT-related procedures and information, as needed
    • Assist with event planning such as booking event spaces, coordinating attendees, ordering food and beverages and ordering any necessary supplies
    • Completing travel requests and booking travel
    • Reconcile credit card statements, invoices, or other financial reports
    • Expectation of a commitment to intercultural communication and demonstrate respect for all individuals. Foundational understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusivity and commitment to ongoing learning
    • Additional duties as required

Qualifications & Experience
    • Post-secondary education required such as a diploma or degree, preferably in Administrative Information Management, Business or Education
    • Minimum 1 year of administrative experience
    • Experience in post-secondary sector is preferred
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Knowledge & Skills
    • Basic computing skills in Microsoft office applications 
    • Superior interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills, attention to detail and accuracy
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment; open to collaborate with the members of the Administrative Team and other stakeholders to support positive outcomes
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and discretely with confidential and sensitive information
    • Ability to remain positive and confident under pressure 

Job classification: Administrative Assistant I
Hourly rate: $21.84 - $26.91
