SAIT’s Continuing Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) focuses on non-credit programs supporting corporate training, the individual learner and international projects. We create courses and programs for life-long learning with careers at our core. Our courses range from exploring general interests to up-skilling for career advancement and reskilling for career changes. We complete all background activities required to set up our products for students to purchase and experience several delivery options.
Construction Management International program—one of our new, in-person, classroom-based Non-Credit Professional Certificate Programs for International Students has been developed to shape students foundational technical and managerial skills for advancement in the Canadian construction industry.
CDARI is hiring Adjunct Instructors for the upcoming Construction Management International Program .

- SFTY 002: Construction Safety
- CIVL 002: Introduction to Contracts
- CNST 029: Introduction to High Performance Homes
- CPMT 002: Construction Project Management
- CODE 002: Building Codes
- CNST 028: Reading Plans & Specifications
- CLAW 001: Canadian Environmental Law
- ESTM 002: Construction Estimating Fundamentals
- CNST 031: Introduction to Smart Homes Technologies
- ESTM 003: Essentials of Construction Estimating
- CNST 032: High Performance Design Integration
- CNST 033: High Performance Construction and Detailing
- PERS 024: Mental Health for the Trades
The Role
    • Prepare and present lessons, lectures, assignments, quizzes, exams, lab activities and lab demonstrations for learners if applicable given the course outline
    • Maintain records for the purposes of grading, assessing professionalism and tracking attendance in classes if given the course outline
    • Maintain engagement with the responsibilities of this course for the duration of the contract
    • Manage the classroom to ensure a positive and enriching learning environment
    • Show personal interest in the learner and create a climate conducive to optimal learning
    • Provide on-going support, guidance and advice to students
    • Attend all SAIT training as required
    • Achievement of School initiatives and Objectives
    • Be an active and engaged member of the School
    • Adhere to all safety legislation, guidelines and safety standards as required
    • Maintain contact with relevant industry sectors
    • All other duties as required for the position

Qualifications
    • Minimum Post-secondary Diploma in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or Red Seal Journeyperson Trade Certification is required. An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.
    • Gold Seal Certified (Canadian Construction Association) is an asset
    • C.E.T Certified (Association of Science & Engineering Technology) is an asset
    • Relevant field experience within the last six (6) months
    • Ability to read, interpret and deliver specific curriculum
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to organize and present written information
    • 2 years of experience in training or teaching is an asset, preferably in Construction Management
    • Experience and fluency with Office 365 (MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)
    • Fluent in English reading and vocabulary
    • Positive & respectful attitude
    • Experience with videoconferencing technology (MS Teams, WebX, Skype or Zoom)

    • Desired:
    • Previous teaching experience
    • Training and knowledge of adult learning fundamentals
    • Formal training or education in facilitation or teaching
    • Formal training in online technologies
    • Experience with a Learning Management System (Brightspace or Moodle is an asset)
