Position Summary:
Under the direction of the immediate supervisor, the incumbent will be responsible for running a Muay Thai class as scheduled.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities designed to meet group and personal fitness objectives.  
  • Enthusiastically deliver Muay Thai group classes that are progressive, week to week.
  • Have a sound knowledge of how to perform Muay Thai activities safely, including use of correct techniques, and educate participants accordingly.
  • Lead and supervise participants to facilitate their safe participation during Muay Thai classes.
  • Offer alternate modes of participation (e.g., lower intensity options) for participants with health or physical limitations.
  • Know, enforce and follow all safety guidelines and understand all emergency protocols.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

  • Emergency/Standard First Aid with CPR C Certification is required
  • Required martial arts background to deliver and coordinate Muay Thai group classes
  • Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing. The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 4 on a scale of 0-4.
