GCCRC is an Engineering Research Center (ERC) set by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Brazilian Agricultural Corporation (EMBRAPA) and hosted by the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in Brazil.
We are seeking an experienced and creative bioinformatician in the area of plant microbiome to develop bioinformatics pipelines for the investigation of genomes, metagenomes, and metatranscriptomes, thereby uncovering new mechanisms related to plant-microorganism interactions in natural environments subjected to stressful water and nutrient conditions.
Qualifications:
- PhD degree;
- Experience in analyzing data generated from large-scale sequencing platforms (Illumina, Nanopore, Pacbio, etc.);
- Experience in microbiome data analysis, such as 16S/ITS sequencing, genome, metagenome, or (meta)-transcriptome assembly and annotation, etc.;
- Desirable experience with high-performance computing, machine learning, data visualization, and big data management;
- Strong organizational skills, communication abilities, and proficiency in English.
Candidates are invited to submit their applications, which should include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and two letters of recommendation, via the following link: https://www.gccrc.unicamp.br/gccrc-jobs/ .
