YOUR TASKS

 

Within the research projects AshCycle (EU-funded) and ECO2chape (SIM ICON research project) the researcher, affiliated with the Department of Structural Engineering and Building Materials will amongst other contribute to structural performance testing, analysis of results, finite element modelling and reporting according to the project deliverables and timing. The ECO2chape project idea focuses on the development of an economically feasible, ecological, and circular screed by subjecting the concept of the classic sand-cement screed to the possibilities available today in light of the circular transition. The AshCycle project provides tools for reducing the waste generation from the incineration of municipal solid waste (MSW), biomass, sewage sludge, or combinations of them by developing new utilization possibilities in construction products, including precast concrete.

 

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

 

Applicants should have a MSc or PhD in Structural or Civil Engineering (or another MSc leading to sufficient knowledge on the topics of relevance), an independent and well-organized working style, well-developed social skills directed towards working in an interdisciplinary team, strong motivation to succeed in scientific research, excellent presentation and scientific writing skills and excellent English language skills (verbally and written).

 

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

 

• We offer you a contract of definite duration for 1 year (extension possible).
• Your contract will start on 1/03/2024 at the earliest.
• Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale WM1 to WM4 (if you hold a Master’s degree) or salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).  Click here for more information about our salary scales .
