Offer Description

The Centre of Research in the Economics of Development (CRED) at the economics department of the University of Namur invites applications for a post-doctoral position in the project “African Women” to begin on April 1st, 2023. The contract is for 10 months.

This project seeks to investigate the economic forces, incentives and constraints that drive discrimination against women in this region, in a historical and contemporaneous perspective, and with a variety of methods. The post-doctoral fellow will contribute to the understanding of the consequences of colonization in the DRC. An experience in working with historical and archival data is valued.

The CRED is devoted to studying problems of economic development, particularly issues of micro-institutions, collective action, market development, and political economics. It groups six permanent academic members, around 10 PhD students and several post-doc researchers.
