YOUR TASKS

 

  • At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research
  • Your scientific research is situated in the domain of pharmacotherapeutics and focuses on actual challenges and problems with regard to the current medical practice of prescribing psychoactive drugs and its impact on public health.  
  • Your research program incorporates educational considerations to guarantee the quality and efficiency of pharmacotherapeutic teaching.  
  • You will coach medical students at bachelor and master level during practical skills training and in the writing process of a master thesis. 
  • You organize and coordinate the teaching curriculum on pharmacotherapeutics for the medical students (bachelor and master level)
  • You are responsible for the course on clinical pharmacology at the master of Science in Nursing and Midwifery (Advanced Practice Nurse).  
  • You participate as a teacher in pharmacotherapeutics in the school of dentistry
  • You implement recent knowledge and new research findings in pharmacotherapeutics in your teaching programs
  • You integrate student-assistents in pharmacotherapeutic teaching in medical school.
  • Your lead and coordinate a team consisting of a teaching instructor, assistant-practitioners, tutors and student-assistants, who all contribute to the curricula on pharmacotherapeutics.

 

YOUR PROFILE

 

  • You hold a doctoral degree in Health Sciences. The degree requirement needs to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted
  • You are experienced in prescribing drugs and have developed individualized pharmacotherapeutic plans.  
  • You completed a certified training programme in clinical pharmacology
  • You are an experienced teacher engaged in a registered educational program on pharmacotherapeutics.   
  • You have acquired experience in leadership and team management.   
  • You have a specific interest in contemporary problems with regard to the medical prescription of psychoactive drugs.   
  • You have already conducted research within the field of pharmacotherapeutics  and have distinguished yourself as a promising researcher in your doctorate
  • You are profoundly interested in coaching students in the Bachelor’s, Master’s and/or Advanced Master’s programmes
  • You may present relevant scientific publications in (inter)national peer-reviewed academic journals that are widely disseminated

  • We offer you a temporary appointment of 3 years. A second appointment of up to 3 years can follow, subject to a favourable evaluation of the first term 
  • Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to three years, you can apply
  • The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term Your appointment will start on 1 September 2024 at the earliest
