Professor/Associate/Assistant Professor in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics

Asian University for Women seeks applications for open-rank position in its Politics, Philosophy, and Economics program (PPE, Assistant to Full Professor) to begin August 2024. While our search is open as to specialization, we have needs in Comparative Politics, Political Economy, and Qualitative Research Methods. We seek a scholar eager to teach throughout the undergraduate curriculum in a diverse international context. The ordinary teaching requirement is 24 credit hours per academic year. 

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. degree in a relevant discipline
  • Evidence of teaching excellence and high-quality research
  • Ability and willingness to teach students whose native language is not English
  • Capacity to advise students and take on administrative responsibilities
  • Commitment to liberal arts education

Responsibilities:

  • Teach required courses in the major degree program
  • Plan, develop and teach elective courses in the candidate’s area of expertise
  • Serve as academic advisor and mentor to students
  • Supervise students in developing and implementing senior thesis projects, including guiding them in data analysis, thesis writing, and presentation
  • Attract funding and engage in research
  • Provide leadership and serve on academic committees

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience or interest in working in Asia
  • Experience or interest in working at a women’s university
