Your personal sphere of influence:


The Institute for Constitutional and Administrative Law (Medical Law Department, Prof. Stöger) of the University of Vienna has a vacancy for a university assistant ("prae doc").
The focus of the position is on medical law, a sound knowledge of public law is also required.
The willingness to actively participate in research and publication projects as well as in the preparation of lectures/courses as part of a team is required.
An excellent command of German and English is required, knowledge of other foreign languages is an advantage.
The employment duration is 3 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 3 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a declaration of non-extension. With appropriate work progress, an extension to a total maximum of 4 years is possible.


 
Your future tasks:

You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • Participation in research, teaching and administration
  • Participation in research projects / research studies
  • Participation in publications / academic articles / presentations
  • Participation in teaching and independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement
  • Supervision of students
  • Involvement in the organisation of meetings, conferences, symposiums
  • Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration
  • We expect the successful candidate to sign a doctoral thesis agreement within 12-18 months.


Minimum requirements:


  • Completed diploma or master's degree in law
  • Methodological skills: Knowledge of legal dogmatics, expertise in (Austrian) medical law and public law
  • Didactic skills desired
  • High ability to express yourself both orally and in writing
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, further foreign language skills are an asset
  • IT user skills, especially MS Office and moodle
  • Ability to work in a team

Desirable qualifications are:

  • Teaching experience / experience of working with e-learning
  • Knowledge of university processes and structures
  • Basic experience in research methods (legal dogmatics) and academic writing, experience in interdisciplinary research is an asset.
