Your personal sphere of influence:


As a university assistant Praedoc, you will complement/complete the research team around Benjamin Roth and carry out tasks such as e.g. undertake research in the area of natural language processing using deep learning methods.

The focus of our research is in the area of natural language processing with deep learning methods, especially weak supervision.

This is a limited term position for 6 months.


Your future tasks:


You actively participate in research, teaching & administration, which means:

  • You will participate in research projects and scientific studies in the area of natural language processing and weakly supervised learning.
  • You are working on your dissertation and its completion.
  • You hold courses independently within the scope of the collective agreement provisions.
  • You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching.

This is part of your personality:


  • Completed master's/diploma degree in computer science, computational linguistics or a related field of study
  • Publications in the area of Natural Language Processing (e.g. ACL, EMNLP)
  • Didactic skills / experience in e-learning
  • Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (e.g. PyTorch, Huggingface, Tensorflow)
  • very good knowledge of English
  • You are a team player with high social/communicative skills.
  • Knowledge of weakly supervised learning is particularly desirable.
