The Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW ), Austria’s largest non-university institution for basic research, is offering the following position at the Institute for Urban and Regional Research (ISR ):  

 

Postdoc Position (f/m/x)

(20-40h per week)

 

starting in April 01st , 2024

 

 

Your duties:

·         Publishing in international journals and publications of the ISR in the field of migration and urban studies

·         Participation in research projects and support in project proposals in the Working Group “Migration and Urban Diversity”

·         Conducting in-depth qualitative research including interviews, focus groups, urban and digital ethnography, participative observation and discourse analysis in the field of migration, diversity and urban studies

·         or Conducting quantitative (geo-)statistical analysis, inferential statistics in the field of migration and urban studies

 

Your profile:

·         Completed PhD in social sciences (e.g. geography, urban studies, sociology)

·         Focus on migration and diversity studies in urban contexts and on a regional scale

·         Proficiency in qualitative or quantitative (Excel, SPSS, R, …) methods as outlined above

·         Excellent proficiency in German and English

·         Team orientation, creativity, independence
