Offer Description
Vienna University of Technology (TU Wien), Institute of Scientific Computing is seeking an Assistant Pre-Doc position for 30 hours/week for a duration of 4 years. The employment in this position should begin in March 2024. The monthly salary will be paid according to group B1 which is at present EUR 2.684,10 (14 times a year).
Your duties:
- participation in research activities, teaching and examinations
- supervising of students (in German and English)
- research and project work in the area of „Analysis of Partial Differential Equations”
- deepening scientific knowledge
- writing a dissertation and publications
- participation in scientific conferences
- participation in organization- and administrative tasks
Your profile
- relevant completed Mathematics studies with Master degree in the field of Mathematics or relevant studies
- knowledge of scientific work
- profound knowledge in the research area of “Partial Differential Equations"
- willingness to participate in the project “SFB F65” – Taming Complexity in Partial Differential Systems in the field of “Large-time behavior of continuous dissipative systems – entropy methods” is expected. A possible theme could be “Large-time behavior of hyperbolic-parabolic systems”.
- Experience in programming (e.g. b. Matlab)
- Teaching experience and knowledge in German would be advantageous
- Excellent knowledge in English
- interest in research and working with students
- teamwork and problem-solving and innovation skills
