The Chair of Chemistry of Polymeric Materials is looking for a PhD student (m/f/d) in the field of bio-based plastics to strengthen the team.

1 position for a full-time scientific project assistant (m/f/d) at the Chair of Chemistry of Polymeric Materials in the Department of Polymer Engineering and Science from earliest possible starting date in an employment relationship limited to 3 years. Salary group B1 according to Uni-KV, monthly minimum salary excl. benefits: € 3,578.80 for 40 hours per week (14 x per year), the actual classification is based on any creditable job-specific previous experience.

Would you like to actively conduct future-oriented research and develop innovative high-performance plastics based on renewable raw materials? With your teamwork and communication skills as well as your organizational talent, you will make a significant contribution to the success of Montanuniversitaet Leoben within the framework of a multidisciplinary research project.

What can you expect?
Exciting and varied work: Development of bio-based hardeners and innovative curing strategies and routes for (bio-based) epoxy resins that enable resource-efficient processing
Communication: Presentation of research results at international specialist events and workshops
Documentation: Responsibility for documenting the progress of the project (progress reports, meetings, etc.)

What do you bring with you?
Education: Completed Master's degree in chemistry or technical chemistry in combination with a high level of technical/economic understanding
Experience: Profound knowledge in organic-preparative chemistry and/or polymer chemistry incl. corresponding analytics as well as in the field of material modification and optimization
Language skills: Excellent knowledge of German and English (written and oral)
IT skills: Very good knowledge of the entire MS Office package, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Personal qualities: High motivation and initiative, independence, ability to work in a team and organizational skills as well as the willingness to write scientific publications; willingness to write a dissertation
Willingness to travel
Professional appearance and negotiating skills as well as enjoyment in dealing with project partners from a wide range of disciplines and countries
