About the Role
Join our vibrant and creative Student Communications team as a Web Producer! Here, you'll be one of two web producers supporting more than 700 pages across the University’s current student website and student portal. As the first point of contact for all web requests, you'll collaborate closely with content writers to craft compelling web pages for student-facing campaigns. Moreover, you'll play a pivotal role in training and supporting web editors across Student and Scholarly Services (SASS), ensuring the delivery of high-quality digital content. Your responsibilities will include: 


  • Understanding the Student Communications team's main goals and their alignment with SASS workplans and the University strategy. 
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and team specialists in communications, design, and CRM to plan, develop, and deliver content and communications aligned with business goals and the Student Communications Framework. 
  • Proactively maintaining up-to-date, audience-centric, tone-appropriate, accessible, search-optimiszed, and consistent web content. 
  • Collaborating with the Web Channels Coordinator and/or Digital Channels Lead on projects aimed at improving web content and functionality. 

Who we are looking for
Are you ready to dive into a role where you'll analyse website performance, advise on web design and content, and manage relationships? We are looking for a web specialist with a sharp eye for improvement, excellent communication skills, and high-quality organisational abilities.

You will also have:

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Experience developing and maintaining user-centered websites (ideally within Squiz Matrix CMS).
  • Strong knowledge of best-practice web standards (eg writing for the web, SEO, accessibility).
  • The ability to use HTML and CSS to build and modify web layouts. 
  • Experience developing and delivering training to upskill colleagues in best-practice web content delivery.

Student and Scholarly Services provides student administration and services from recruitment and point of enquiry to graduation. This team also delivers wellbeing and scholarly services to students and staff.

Student Communications is a core cross-functional team within SASS responsible for designing and delivering integrated and tailored communications to applicants and more than 65,000 current students. The team of more than 20 comprises web specialists, designers, content writers and CRM specialists to deliver student-centred communications that assist students to complete critical administration, engage in enrichment services, seek support and thrive in their studies.
