Overview:


  • 1x Full-time, Continuing position & 1x Part-Time, Continuing Position (0.5 FTE)   

  • Salary HEW 5+ 17% Superannuation 

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, but may be required to work and/or be based at other campuses of the University 


 


About The Position 


 
The Technical Officer position entails collaborating closely with a technical team to ensure efficient information flow, foster a service-oriented culture, and organize practical laboratory classes. Administrative support for learning and teaching activities, along with actively participating in continuous improvement processes, are key responsibilities. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. Flexibility, initiative, and proficiency in media communications technologies are also required. This role plays a critical part in achieving teaching, learning, and commercial outcomes by providing high-quality administrative support to staff, students, and partners. 


 


Experience with Media Production equipment (video cameras, lighting, audio) Adobe Suite, Premier and Media/Communications studies is highly advantageous. 


 


To be successful in this position, you’ll have: 


 


  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and proven ability to build and maintain strong collaborative working relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.  

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, including demonstrated experience developing and delivering complex written reports to a high standard.  

  • High level communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.  

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative, by working independently and with limited direction, as well as effectively within a dynamic team environment.  

  • Proven experience in planning, organising and prioritising work in a busy environment with multiple and conflicting priorities and competing deadlines.  

  • Proven working experience in assisting in technical support and proven experience in the storage, handling and legislative requirements of a technical nature related to the relevant specifics of the role.  

  • Demonstrated ability to use information and communication technologies effectively, including Microsoft Office software packages, web and email software, database use.
