Student Records provides effective day-to-day administrative support within the Student Lifecycle team to ensure all services are provided efficiently to meet the operating needs of the Registrar & Student Services Unit (RASS) within the Division of the Deputy Vice Chancellor Education & Student Experience.

About the role

  • Employment type: Full-time (35 hours per week)
  • Duration: 8-month fixed term contract
  • Remuneration: from $106K plus 17% superannuation

The Team Leader, Student Records takes an active role in the successful delivery of specialist business processes related to all aspects of a student’s academic record including the management of academic standing and the Re-enrolment Appeal Committees.

In your work as the Team Leader, Student Records you are expected to have a broad range of knowledge and expertise across all matters relating to student records and will be expected to provide expert advice and support, manage complex issues relating to the management of student records and results, undertake processing and where appropriate, supervise staff.

You will report to the Manager, Student Records and assist with the supervision of 9 Administrative Officers.

Skills & Experience

You will have a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and experience within Higher Education student services alongside:

  • Highly proficient computer literacy with experience in using a student records management system.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, influence and guide staff.
  • Proven ability in interpreting and applying UNSW policy and procedures.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, and the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Proven ability to exercise initiative, think strategically and creatively, and adopt an active approach to problem-solving.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing difficult situations, including the escalation of stakeholder complaints.
  • Highly advanced interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, with the ability to liaise at all levels and with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
