About the Role

The Teaching Specialist, Wellbeing Science will make an outstanding contribution to teaching, education scholarship and engagement. The Teaching Specialist in Wellbeing Science is a teaching focused and knowledge transfer role. This person will contribute strongly to the Faculty’s teaching programs including the Master of Applied Positive Psychology (MAPP), undergraduate breadth subjects in wellbeing science as well as the development of new subjects related to wellbeing coaching and wellbeing leadership.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching in the Faculty programs, particularly the Centre for Wellbeing Science programs
  • Broadening knowledge and expertise in wellbeing science to enable teaching across multiple subjects within the Centre and Faculty
  • Showing leadership in the Teaching and Learning portfolios, including development of new programs

Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking an accomplished individual with a strong history of effective instruction at both undergraduate and graduate levels. This includes the capacity to enrich and manage inventive academic programs, along with demonstrated success in transferring knowledge. A deep understanding of current discourse in wellbeing science and education is crucial, as well as exceptional interpersonal and communication capabilities for seamless contribution within a collaborative teaching team.

You will also have:

  • A PhD or equivalent research doctorate in Wellbeing Science, for example Positive Psychology, Psychology, Education or Workplace Wellbeing
  • A demonstrated capacity to contribute to the future directions of the University of Melbourne
  • Demonstrated high-level organisational and administrative skills, including the ability to plan and organise self and others to ensure the successful completion of tasks

This position requires the incumbent to hold a current and valid Working with Children Check to ensure the University provides a safe environment for everyone.
