About the opportunity

The Tasmanian School of Business and Economics is looking for a highly motivated and detailed oriented Tax Clinic Administrator to join their team. 

As our new Tax Clinic Administrator, you will be tech savvy and able to provide navigation assistance for tax platforms such as MyGov, My Tax and other professional programs, as well as providing high level tax guidance.  Great Customer Service comes naturally to you, and you’re passionate about supporting student learning through training in administrative and record keeping procedures, as well as fostering strong networks with internal and external stakeholders.  You’re also able to provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the Tax Clinic.

What you’ll do:

  • Guide clients in using MyGov, MyTax, and professional tax software, ensuring they are comfortable and proficient with these tools.
  • Offer expert tax guidance and support, ensuring clients are well informed about their tax positions under the supervision and direction of the Tax Clinic Director or Manager.
  • Deliver outstanding client service, addressing inquiries with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Conduct administrative tasks such as scheduling, record management, and report generation.
  • Support the educational development of students by training them in administrative and record-keeping procedures.
  • Assist in mentoring or training new staff or interns, emphasising the importance of community engagement and professional networking.

  • Excellent client service and technical support skills, with the ability to effectively communicate tax-related information.
  • Strong organisational, administrative, and time-management skills.
  • Experience in or commitment to supporting student learning and community engagement.
  • Capability to manage client trackers and contribute to matter management and workflow improvements.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 4 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $86,321 comprising base salary within the range of $69,646 to $73,779 plus 17% superannuation.
