  • TAFE Teaching Role for a Qualified Electrotechnology Teacher
  • Full Time fixed term at 38 hours per week

About the Role:

You will be undertake training and assessment in the Certificate II and Certificate III of Electrotechnology and joining a team of teachers who take pride in delivering high-quality and industry-relevant training and education to students from the Western suburbs of Melbourne and beyond.  As a member of our Electrotechnology teaching team you will be training and assessing students across a range of Units and Ensure quality compliance of the requirements of ASQA, VRQA, HESG service agreements within your delivery and assessment. You will have the opportunity to positively impact the lives of your students and contribute to their ongoing development.

Duties
An example of duties you may perform will include:

  • Delivering and engaging workshops to students onsite across two campuses Units delivered for the Certificate II and Certificate III in Electrotechnology. Please consult our website to view the Units that we deliver: TAFE at VU | Victoria University
  • Administering formal assessments to judge student competency, providing helpful feedback as required.
  • Helping students to navigate our learning management system (VU Collaborate) to access learning resources & assessments
  • Entering participation and results in our student management system
  • Tracking student engagement and identifying students at risk of not successfully completing the course so that you can put in place appropriate strategies to minimise attrition
  • Contributing to resource development and pursuit of continuous improvement
  • Contributing to quality assurance by leading and participating in validation sessions, and
  • Engaging with industry to ensure that your teaching programs remain current and relevant for our students

This position is being offered at 12 month fixed-term basis for an experienced Electrical trainer. 

Salary and Conditions of Employment: The full-time equivalent salary range is from $86,846 per annum to $110,121 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation and is dependent on experience and qualifications. Conditions of employment will be covered by the Victoria University's Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2019.

The position is located at our Sunshine campus.

About You:

  • Must hold a TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment; or TAE40110 with required upskill units TAEASS502 and TAELLN411 or TAELLN401A. 
  • Must hold a valid E Class (employee) Working with children Check to be able to undertake this role.
  • Ideally you will have industry experience and/or sound electrical knowledge.
  • Preferably you are a qualified or certified Electrotechnology professional and hold an unrestricted electrical licence.
