- Full-time, continuing position for a Student Placements Officer

- Base Salary $95,860 + 17% superannuation

As such, we are in a period of exciting and significant investment in our Faculty of Medicine and Health and to deliver on the University’s ambitious strategic plan, The Faculty of Medicine and Health Education are looking for a Student Placements Officer to join their growing team. This role will be a great opportunity to use your exceptional administrative and organisational experience to plan, organise, negotiate, and source both domestic and international student placements across a range of programs.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- negotiate, source and coordinate student placements for specific units of study
- liaise with domestic and international stakeholders to organise student placements
- provide support to academic staff to ensure placements are effectively managed
- use the placement management software, Sonia and other software to ensure that placements are being processed and delivered as effectively as possible
- provide support for both students and placement providers to ensure that a high quality, client-focused service is being provided
- act as the contact point for students undertaking clinical placement
- prepare, coordinate and maintain student records
- monitor placement progression and adjust planning as required
- assist with the collation and reporting of data required for student placements
- keep up to date with NSW Health policy and guidelines relevant to discipline.
About you
- strong administration background, preferably attained in a tertiary environment
- effective and tactful verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong problem-solving skills, initiative, and sound judgment
- excellent time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve required outcomes
- understanding of tertiary clinical/health placements, planning and negotiation (highly desirable)
- proven experience using MO suite applications including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the reasons for the position.
