About This Opportunity 

The Student Experience Officer plays a vital role within the Get Involved team, contributing as a collaborative team member while also demonstrating initiative to achieve outstanding results for UQ's volunteering and mentoring programs. Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement abilities are essential as the role involves collaboration across various units within the institution.  

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Develop print and digital materials for mentoring and volunteer programs.

  • Organize and execute events, programs, and group activities to bolster mentoring efforts.

  • Administer and coordinate systems to support programs, ensuring compliance with legislative and reporting standards.

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of volunteering/mentoring coordinators.

  • Manage inquiries through a shared inbox and communicate opportunities to students.

  • Conduct Blue Card checks for volunteering/mentoring initiatives involving individuals under 18 years old.


About You  

Essential

  • Degree completion with relevant experience or extensive expertise in administration, or equivalent combination.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal and computer application (Microsoft 365) skills.

  • Ability to retain extensive knowledge of programs, activities, and policies accurately, and actively participate in and support team efforts.

  • Demonstrated initiative and independent judgment in a high-volume client contact environment.

  • Experience in efficiently planning, organizing, and delivering group-based activities, training, and programs.

Desirable

  • Experience working with students or within a tertiary education setting.

  • Experience working with mentoring programs and/or volunteer programs.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
