We have an exciting opportunity to be part of a team that provides guidance across Curtin University to achieve our first student at-risk support objectives. The First Year Experience team support current first year students to provide tailored, timely and positive intervention to assist in their successful transition into university.

As the Student Engagement Coordinator, you will work alongside our Project Leads, Project Administrator and Data Analyst to contact the identified at-risk students to provide timely and positive intervention, study advice and support measures within their first-year units. This role will also be responsible for the implementation of digital communication tactics such as SRES support messaging, project reporting and engagement campaigns for at-risk students. This can include but is not limited to, census and withdrawal advice, connecting students to available support services at the university, as well as liaising with various University faculty staff to ensure tailored student transition and success.

We have multiple full time, fixed term roles available with a contract end date of 24 December 2024 (possibility of extension). An immediate start is preferred but can be flexible for the right candidate.
In this role, you will also:

  • Provide tailored, exceptional support for at-risk students.
  • Collaborate with the First Year Experience team to develop key student communications and resources to support student success.
  • Maintain our student management systems to ensure accurate and up to date information at all times.
  • Report to Project Leads on the outcomes of the provided student support and intervention.
  • Identify key support measures required for each individual student and their needs, to triage to the appropriate student services available.
We are looking for:
  • Extensive customer service experience in front facing roles.
  • Ability to demonstrate cultural awareness and understanding of issues that impact students.
  • An understanding of student access, support and retention strategies.
  • Experience providing tailored support and customer service.
  • Experience using student management systems like CRM, BlackBoard and/or SRES.
  • Experience in developing engagement content and delivery of support services.
  • Dynamic individual with exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate confidently with students and stakeholders at all levels.
As this is a fixed-term role, you will require permanent work rights in Australia to be considered.
