  • Full-time, fixed term contract until 23 May 2025
  • Commencement Salary: $70,476 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)


About the Role 

The Student Employment Officer: Career Services will provide project and administrative support for a range of Career Services initiatives all aimed at supporting our students to achieve their career goals.  This position provides support to students through the Career Services Drop-In and will respond to student career enquires. This role will proactively contact employers advertising jobs via UniSA platforms to offer value added recruitment services, which will support a greater number of UniSA students/graduate not only applying for but securing jobs with these employers. The position will also support the Career Service to increase student engagement in paid employment within the University through a “Jobs on Campus” initiative.

About Student Engagement Unit 

The Student Engagement Unit (SEU) is responsible for the strategic development and delivery of student facing services that will enhance the on-campus and off-campus student experience for all students. The SEU also takes strategic steps to inform the quality of the student experience of learning and teaching, support services, the learning environment, and student facilities. 

SEU services include Orientation, UniSA Sport, Career Services, Student Life, Student Wellbeing, Student Counselling, International Student Support, Learning Advice, Wirringka Student Services, and Access and Inclusion Services.  

Career Services offers services, resources and learning based programs that support UniSA students to integrate their academic and career interests, and proactively design their career pathway. The team also established relationships with employers to facilitate connections to students.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Highly developed interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills from a range of cultural backgrounds and communications styles
  • Experience in agency/internal recruitment
  • Excellent organisational and office administration skills
  • A track record of achieving objectives and to plan, coordinate and carry out project tasks 
  • Diploma level qualification in administration or a related field plus relevant work-related experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
  • Demonstrated experience working in student services or higher/vocational education (desirable)
