The Opportunity 

Join a team driving the translation of innovative medical technologies from bench to bedside to enhance healthcare practice, and improve outcomes for patients, healthcare professionals, and the healthcare system. As the Strategy and Innovation Project Officer, you will play a key role within the Tyree Foundation Institute of Health Engineering (Tyree IHealthE) in providing practical and efficient project support for healthcare innovation translation projects and stakeholders. This role entails supporting the delivery of a broad range of activities and tasks to meet established milestones as part of the implementation of the Tyree IHealthE innovation translation strategy. You will be responsible for analytical and project management support, building internal and external relationships, and supporting the delivery of IHealthE activities. 

This role reports to the Head of Strategy and Innovation, Ian Goon, and has no direct reports 

  • Salary, Level 6: $96,960 to $103,434 per annum + 17% superannuation
  • Full time 
  • Fixed term contract – 12 months 
  • Location: Kensington – Sydney, Australia

Skills and Experience 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
  • Demonstrated interest in healthcare innovation, commercialisation and translation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail for deliverables produced.
  • Sound stakeholder management skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet competing deadlines by using judgement and initiative.
  • Project experience, with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans, objectives, and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
  • An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives, and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
