FIRST Australia is a key strategic initiative of the University with a national and growing international profile. In collaboration with Macquarie University’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, the FIRST programs aim to inspire the next generation to choose science and engineering degrees and career pathways. There are approximately 500 schools participating around the country in the FIRST Tech Challenge (ages 12-18) and the FIRST Robotics Competition (ages 14-18) programs. The FIRST FRC & FTC Program Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of running the programs and events nationally. This includes coordinating and managing events and volunteers, logistics, training, grant writing, and program management with a focus to increase school participation and collaborating with partners from around the world.

Provide supervision and support for program partners and participating coaches, teams, teachers, casual staff and volunteers;
Support the FIRST AUSTRALIA annual schedule of events including national and international events, conferences, competitions, promotions and initiatives;
Deliver the suite of FIRST AUSTRALIA training programs to organisations and schools;
Event manage and coordinate FIRST AUSTRALIA competitions both locally (including onsite at Macquarie University) and nationally, with occasional domestic travel required;
Generate and administer related grant applications;
Manage the FIRST Australia school holiday STEM program, with RoboCamps delivered onsite at Macquarie University.
