About This Opportunity 

Are you a seasoned Drupal web developer looking for an exciting opportunity to shape the online presence of one of Australia's leading universities? Look no further! The University of Queensland (UQ) is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Web Developer to join our dynamic team.

At UQ, we are undergoing a transformative phase in our online presence, and we need someone with the skills and expertise to help us drive this change forward. As a Senior Web Developer, you will be an integral part of our high-performing agile web development team, responsible for delivering new features on Drupal 10 for a variety of UQ websites.

This is a unique chance to work on leading-edge Drupal 10 projects and collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including UQ developers, business analysts, testers, and expert developers from leading Drupal consulting companies that we work closely with. Together, we will transform UQ's digital footprint and enhance the user experience for students, staff, and visitors alike.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position through to November 2024.

At HEW level 7, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $96,649 - $105,244, plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $113,080 - $123,136 annually.  As these roles are covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.


About You

Essential

  • A strong combination of relevant experience and/or education/training in web development or software engineering.

  • Demonstrated experience developing front-end code.

  • Demonstrated experience with web development or software engineering, particularly Object-Oriented programming in Drupal 8+, PHP, Symphony or similar.

  • Able to code collaboratively with team members.

  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving skills with the ability to perform research or liaise with others to develop solutions for more difficult problems.

  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills with the demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues to achieve positive outcomes.

  • Self-motivated and able to organise own time, and approach tasks methodically.

Desirable

  • Experience with Drupal 9/10 development

  • Experience developing websites using a large, complex enterprise web content management system.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards, and SEO and web best practices.

  • Ability to gather user and business requirements, analysing systems and preparing documentation for stakeholders and team members.

  • Additional Technical Skills: Proficiency in PHP, SASS/SCSS, MySQL, testing code (manual and automated with PHPUnit, Behat, Jest, visual regression, or similar), web services and API integration, Drush, Docker and Docker compose, SimpleSAML, XDebug, Nginx, Solr, or Elastic Search.
